I will be reviewing and speaking on what a good clinician can provide to bolster the success of an athlete. It will be an overview on what to look for in a clinician and the components that follow a biopsychosocial approach toward athlete development.
Individuals will on average see a physician 4 times a year (with this number skewed by those sick). On the contrary, they'll see their regular trainer or coach 100 times a year. With this comes: more opportunity to influence long term health than anyone else, a huge responsibility, and a tremendous ability for lasting income and impact. This talk will introduce a framework for helping coaches to fully embrace that role and responsibility. We'll discuss: becoming more well rounded, boosting your reputation and perception, strategies for collaborating with other providers, and getting more involved in your community.
A detailed review of comprehensive lab work and lifestyle and medical interventions used to correct high blood pressure, NAFLD, insulin resistance, libido, fertility, PCOS, anemia, osteopenia, amenorrhea, acne, water retention, kidney function, liver health, cholesterol, weight loss and sleep apnea.

Hypertrophy and Strength Training efforts are intended to bring us more tissue and more strength, but what happens when we ignore all the systems that integrate to create the gains we're looking for? In this presentation I define and explain the systems approach to understanding hypertrophy and strength training with generalized frameworks, how to assess "output" and modulate it effectively, what signs to look for when you've made a mistake, what to do once you're there, and how to adjust course through session and programming structures that can be molded to your needs as you progress.
Research suggests axial load on an injured lumbar disc can lead to an anabolic process in the disc or a catabolic process. Do you know how to apply that load? In this survey of the literature, we will combine the current bench science with what we have learned in working on the gym floor with the athletes at Kabuki Strength for 15 years.
Athletes come in many shapes and sizes, and have very different needs for their sport performance. The amount of ground interaction is the defining characteristic that differentiates different kinds of athletes. Ground is anything external to the athlete that can be touched and pushed on. Ground itself ranges on a continuum between most easily deformable and least deformable. The more external ground that is hard to deform, the more grounded the activity. Low ground interaction athletes like divers, half pipe skaters and snowboarders typically display lower body masses, and rely on rotation and tumbling to dominate in their sport. High interaction ground athletes like power lifters and interior linemen have greater body masses, and rely on not being rotated or tumbled to dominate in their sport. This presentation will highlight the primary avenues of providing ground in training exercises, determining how much ground to provide different kinds of athletes in their training, and how to progress them once you've reached a good ground correspondence with training matching sport ground demands.

The theory component will take an in-depth look at the science of volume prescription (reps/sets), load selection, exercise selection, training frequency, lifting tempo and rest periods. These are the tools that we use to design successful programs and without a proper understanding of these training variables, any program we create will simply be guesswork. Next we will explore and deconstruct the different styles of linear and non-linear periodization so that you understand how these different programming styles work, before applying all of this knowledge to program design so that you can create consistent and effective programs for a range of populations and goals.
By the end of the seminar, you will know how to effectively coach beginner through to advanced lifters, men and women, athletes from a variety of sports (including team sports, bodybuilding, and strength sports) and for lifters with a variety of goals (including muscle gain, fat loss/body composition, general health, and strength gain).

An overview of how exercise behavior relates to, affects, and is predicted by mental health with a specific focus on body-related thoughts, perceptions, and emotions. Suggestions for best-practice in fitness- and sport-related contexts will be highlighted.
The most common question Kabuki gets is "what exercise should I do to increase my *insert favorite lift*? " People have made careers out of answering that question but is there a way to make the process less cumbersome?
We'll look at breaking down the components of exercise correspondence and how that relates to technical proficiency, weak zones, barbell velocity, and load potential to structure and systemise exercise selection.
Programming for Strength and Power are essential for all clients. The Landmine is one of the most versatile modalities to implement safe and effective programming for most demographics. This presentation is to highlight the specific advantages and strategies of Landmine training.
The off-season for a strength athlete will differ based on the needs and the goals of the athlete. Using a concurrent training model, we can address multiple adaptations within the same mesocycle while shifting the priorities of the training over time. That said, no single best progression model exists and some element of specificity should always be present. Balancing the prioritization of weak points, refinement of technique and increasing lean body mass concurrently requires a nuanced and creative approach with a thorough understanding of intent, context and needs of the individual. This talk will discuss the interplay between variables and propose an alternate viewpoint to progress training over the course of the off-season.
Despite the online fitness boom and the number of people in the US who have gym memberships more than doubling between the years 2000 and 2020 (30,000,000 - 65,000,000), obesity rates have increased by almost 40%, morbid obesity went up by almost 50%, childhood obesity went up by over 20%, and 50% of people are dealing with daily musculoskeletal pain. The medical system is overwhelmed, and fitness coaches are the best positioned professionals to solve these problems. The biggest issue standing in our way is the loss of practicality of fitness solutions which makes the fitness industry a place that the people who need us the most struggle to participate in.
In this session Dr. Sean will discuss:
- What is practical fitness
- How is practical fitness different than functional fitness
- Who is the audience looking for practical fitness
- How do you begin to attract and service them without gaining any more education
- How and why monetizing this audience is an act of full commitment empathy and specialization
- How to earn a career as a fitness professional, using practical fitness or not

There is no mystery in Low Back Injury. The biomechanical and biological evidence is well established.
There are three main Lumbar Spine injuries in Lifting. Posterior Disc, Vertebral end plate, and posterior bony element damage. Each of these requires a different approach in rehabilitation.
The evolutionary and functional development of the human spine is imperative to understand when producing a rehabilitation plan. Understanding the mechanism of injury leads us to developing a strategy that takes an athlete from injury to performance, identifies the variables involved in the onset of the episode, and gives us the ability to minimise recurrence.
This presentation will clarify the approaches to successful Lumbar Spine management.
Everytime a female soccer player steps onto the field she has a 5% chance of tearing her ACL. By utilizing specific training techniques, we can greatly decrease their risk of injury and lengthen their playing career.

We know testosterone levels in men are on a steep decline of 1% per year. This is starting as young as 16, and is an epidemic. However, whether a man wants to explore testosterone replacement therapy or not, he is best off getting his body as healthy & resilient as possible. This includes managing insulin resistance, inflammation, & muscle tissue. There is an incentive for doing a “GPP” Phase for the general population - any treatments related to anti-aging will work that much better and is likely to drive greater compliance when focused on body composition in this approach.
The skills and confidence needed to build relationships on demand, with anyone you want, will change your career (and life) forever. Unfortunately, this is not something we’re ever taught. Until now. I’ll show you how I went from being painfully shy, introverted and insecure to speaking on stages around the country and becoming known as the Super Connector.
Power is the first physical quality we lose with age. In fact, power is lost at almost TWICE the rate of strength. (Every decade after 40, power declines 17%, whereas strength declines 10%.) Because of this, you must incorporate explosive exercises into your program. BUT, you need to learn how to do this in the safest/smartest manner possible, as there are risks associated with faster movements!
In this presentation, you'll learn:
The biggest issue with PED use in the industry is "throwing the kitchen sink" at the problem/client in order to create an outcome that could be reached with much less. With a better understanding of the theoretical "need" that could warrant the use of certain PED's alongside prophylactic health strategies, we can hold our coaches to a higher standard in helping athletes manage their long term health metrics while still producing results.
The primary goals and the methods employed change over the course of a Powerlifting career as one moves from novice through advanced and beyond. This presentation is about what those changes are and how to guide lifters through these stages in their careers.

The "gift of injury" is that it's a wake up call for people to promote positive health which can lower people's biological age so their health span lasts their life span. "Fix it" orthopedic & rehab approaches accelerate functional decline by perpetuating the myths that hurt = harm and activity is dangerous. By managing people away from load both muscle atrophy and inflammation increase. It is time to challenge the tyranny of the mainstream and build a community of positive health coaches to address both over-protection & under-preparation. Together we can work together to problem-solve this worldwide inactivity crisis one person at a time.

Program design can seem complex and daunting. But when you break it down, it’s actually a lot simpler than you think once you understand the fundamental principles. For example:
All of these questions, and more, have simple answers. But in order to truly individualize a program for you or your athletes, you need to understand the underlying principles that drive these decisions. In this presentation, I’ll cover these variables and present them in a structured (and more importantly) simple way. Finally, I’ll present a case study where I walk you through the step-by-step process I used to build a training program for one of my elite athletes using the process we cover in the presentation.
Jordan will discuss in depth about how to make content that will:
