The Lumbar Spine in Lifting - the Rules for Rehab

There is no mystery in Low Back Injury. The biomechanical and biological evidence is well established.

There are three main Lumbar Spine injuries in Lifting. Posterior Disc, Vertebral end plate, and posterior bony element damage. Each of these requires a different approach in rehabilitation.

The evolutionary and functional development of the human spine is imperative to understand when producing a rehabilitation plan. Understanding the mechanism of injury leads us to developing a strategy that takes an athlete from injury to performance, identifies the variables involved in the onset of the episode, and gives us the ability to minimize recurrence.

This presentation will clarify the approaches to successful Lumbar Spine management.
