Hi, my name is Cassandra Strunk.
All my life I knew I wanted to be in the health field, but it wasn’t until 2006 when I started to find a true calling in the fitness world. I started my fitness journey as a runner, training for half marathons and local races, until I developed a knee injury. From there, I was introduced to the world of physical therapy, which sparked my interest in the subject I would later study and is now my current career field. During my running hiatus, I stepped into a weight room that unleashed a whole new perspective on what it means to be healthy and strong. Since then, I continued studying exercise science, obtaining my B.S. in Kinesiology (pre-physical therapy route), studied to become a Physical Therapist Assistant, worked as a P.T.A. and Chiropractic Assistant, took a step in bodybuilding, worked as a personal trainer and Level 1 CrossFit Coach, and now I continue to be an aspiring strength and conditioning coach to ultimately be a part of a community that bridges the gap between rehab and fitness performance.
I’m thankful to the moment over two years ago, when I gathered enough courage to walk into Kabuki Strength Lab by myself, where Rudy Kadlub and Chris Duffin encouraged me to sign up for a powerlifting meet two days before the meet. It was then that I discovered potential as a strength athlete. I’ve now competed at 105lbs and 97lbs in powerlifting, and I also compete in strongwoman contests in the LWW Open division with aspirations of competing at a national level. Walking into Kabuki Strength Lab shined a new light on my potential as an athlete and now as their first female strength coach. My fascination and knowledge with health, fitness, strength, and conditioning continues to grow, as well as my determination to help others succeed in living better through movement and strength.
